How do you manually fix vauxhall astra handbrake?

Don't tell me to take it to a shop it's pointless and unhelpful. It's a vauxhall astra 1994 GLS 1600 estate just done the brakes now the handbrake wont work at all|||have you got a jack?|||I'll wager you never swapped the adjuster base ring over from one scroll pin to the other. It's a sprung circlip the sits on a peg on one of the shoes. It's there for the adjuster to pivot on, and also to stop the sprung lever from sliding into the top bar. If it's missed off, you can't keep the adjustment on the rear brakes. They cost about a quid the pair (one each side) Maybe you SHOULD have taken it to a garage.....|||Too little information given to be of help to you,but if its drum brakes? then manually adjust the self adjusters at the brake shoes so the brake drum just turns, then tighten the handbrake cable to get the correct travel, hope this gets you started|||"Don't tell me to take it to a shop it's pointless and unhelpful"

Well tell us what you've done wrong when you re-assembled it then.

You're not going to get any useful answers with that attitude.

Buy a Haynes manual and take it from there......|||The only way is manually, you can't do it by thought power.

Now, what tools do you have?|||Seeing the brakes are connected to the handbrake take it back and tell them to sort it as they worked perfectly till there bodgers got their hands on it|||Tie one end of rope to anchor.

Hold other end of rope tight.

Throw anchor out of window.

Pray.
