How much to fix a cracked cylinder on a 2003 vauxhall corsa?

So... I've just got in from breaking down on the motorway. The tower guy said that he thinks it's a cracked cylinder. So i was wondering, how much would this cost to fix on the vauxhall corsa? Anyone had an experience on cylinders or whatever? How much in pounds?|||bad luck with the break down...

As the other answers say , I agree that it is unlikely a cracked cylinder can be diagnosed so easily.

Other things could cause the same issues.

However it is likely that from what you have said that something serious is wrong with your engine.

You should be able to get a quote for the repair from a local garage or a Vauxhall dealer but they may need to see the car and charge for the investigation.

If you have a garage you trust (or a friend / relative who does) I would ask for their help.

Without seeing the engine no-one can tell you how much it will cost, but as a wild guess 拢500 to 拢1,500 depending on the work and assuming you don't need a replacement engine..

Good luck !|||Any major engine work will run into hundreds to repair. I take it tower is like AA. There's no way you could diagnose cracked cylinder without pretty much completely dismantling the engine. What ever the symptoms were at the point of breakdown could be explained in a number of far more likely ways.|||You can't diagnose a cracked cylinder until you take the engine apart.|||you can't fix a cracked cylinder
