How much to replace the Alternator in a Vauxhall Corsa C?

My Corsa needs a new alternator because the bearings are starting to go.

Roughly how much would a mechanic charge to purchase and replace an alternator in a 2005 Vauxhall Corsa C 1.3 CDTI?|||A alternator could be up to 拢150 and a garage would probably charge you for a hours labour even though it can be done in about 20 minutes . Thats a big place . A small garage might be able to get one cheaper and fit one for less . Don't listen to mr bearings man , mechanics dont bother opening things up and changing bearings etc its not worth the bother in this day and age . Phone a few places and they should be able to give you a quote as it is a straight forward job . Try a big dealer . a small garage and a mobile mechanic or auto electriction as well to see how they differ

As for above post , for 拢30 that would be seconhand which could just fail again so i wouldnt consider that .

Hope this helps|||they arnt cheap, you get usually get it fixed or repaired from $80-$150|||you are looking at 拢150 all in, that is if you want a decent exchange unit|||Bearing will be the usual skf 6202 and they are very cheap,it will take minutes to change it, but I would point out they are just not prone to failure|||alternators around 拢30 quid and then labour usually an hours worth theyll charge you for

so roughly 拢90
